The Department of Non-Production Management of Donetsk State University of Management was established to educate the competent specialists who can work as managers at different levels and perform decision-making tasks, strategic management, leadership, etc.

The Department staff includes 8 members, among them: 3 Doctors of Science, Full Professors, 3 PhDs, Associate Professors. Academic staff are certified specialists with good English language skills as well as practical experience in management, business planning and analytics.
The graduates of the Department hold managerial positions at the enterprises, consulting organizations, structural subdivisions of Mariupol City Council, educational and health care institutions, as well as district state administrations, local self-governance bodies in Ukraine and abroad.

The Department has established the students’ scientific club "Manager" where students can gain experience in acquiring new knowledge while carrying out the research and develop their creative skills. The scientific interests of the club members are aimed at studying topical issues of modern management.

The research activity of the Department is conducted within the scientific theme "Social management and organisation of information processes" and the general scientific theme "Information technology and information support in the system of public administration at the regional and local levels."
In 2016 the Department opened the PhD training program in the specialities 052 "Economics", 073 "Management", 281 "Public Administration".
Over the past three years, the academic staff of the Department have prepared and published training materials, 11 individual and collective scientific monographs, more than 100 scientific papers published in Ukraine and abroad, along with publications in periodicals included in scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science.
The Department of Non-Production Management actively cooperates with many foreign educational institutions. Agreements on scientific cooperation have been concluded to facilitate the exchange of information on educational programs, research activities and areas of potential mutual scientific cooperation.
Over the past 5 years, academic staff of the Department have participated in various international projects and programs, namely:
2015 Project "Let's take care of public space in Mariupol together" (есть ли официальное название на англ языке?) within the framework of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation "Transformation in the Region" Program - RITA, implemented by the Education for Democracy Foundation;
2018-2019 - International innovative project on the formation of a culture of leadership in national higher education system "Ukraine Higher Education Leadership Development Program", which was supported by the Institute of Higher Education NAES of Ukraine, the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) and the British Council in Ukraine (Kyiv, Ukraine; the University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland).
2020 - United territorial community brand development project of Donetsk oblast within the framework of the social project "Brandville" of the design studio "Logogo" and "Congress of Cultural Activists".
