Students of DSUM, who study at the expense of the state on a full-time basis, are entitled to receive academic and/or social scholarships.

Based on the results of the semester assessment, a consolidated academic record of each student is formed, which includes the learning outcomes and points  of each discipline, various forms of assessment, student participation in University social, sports and scientific activities. This procedure is regulated by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “Questions on scholarship provision”. The ranking does not include students who scored less than the unsatisfactory level of academic performance.

The amount of the scholarship is established by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On the amount of scholarships in public and municipal educational institutions, scientific establishments".

The procedure for the use of funds for the payment of the academic scholarship is also approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The Academic Council of the University before the results of each semester assessment, taking into consideration the scholarship costs, determines the limit of scholarship holders in a certain semester  among all faculties (usually 40 to 45 percent). The order of a rating formation is defined by "Regulations of academic scholarship payments".

If a scholarship holder has the right to receive several academic scholarships, only one is to be awarded - a larger one.

Students who are included in the consolidated academic records and belong to certain categories of citizens who are provided with state benefits and guarantees for the payment of social scholarships on the basis of legislative acts are entitled to receive a social scholarship.

Academic and social scholarships are paid once a month.

A Scholarship Commission of the University has been established to handle procedure of scholarship awarding or depriving. The Commission is guided by the national law and university regulations
